Research at the Department of Primary Education
The Department addresses scientific subjects in the Social Sciences in the areas of Sociology, Pedagogy, Psychology, and the Teaching of Humanities and Natural Sciences, which constitute a framework within the interdisciplinary field of Education. In this framework, the production of new knowledge transcends established scientific subjects and is realized through research projects that involve interaction and collaboration among individuals from seemingly different scientific backgrounds and goals.
Improving learning and teaching processes, solving educational problems both within and outside the school context, developing teaching practices and curriculum proposals, and any scientific knowledge that contributes to maintaining the democratic character of public education, reducing inequalities, and ensuring equal learning opportunities while simultaneously recognizing and highlighting diversity are central objectives of the Department’s research efforts.
