Evgenia Vassilaki is Associate Professor in Linguistics and Language Education. She holds a PhD in Pragmatics from the Linguistics Department of the University of Athens, where she also obtained her Master’s Degree in Applied Linguistics and her Bachelor’s Degree in Greek Language and Literature. She had previously worked for several years in teaching Greek as an L2 in various contexts.

She has participated in research projects on teachers’ training and instructional material design for L2 Greek learners which were administered by the University of Athens, the University of Crete and the Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki.

Her teaching and research revolve around literacy education, language teaching, pragmatic development and language teacher education. She has published in Linguistics and Education and Journal of Pragmatics.
