Triandafillos Triandafillidis is a graduate of the Department of Mathematics of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. In 1993 he completed his postgraduate studies in Mathematics Teaching at the University of Edinburgh with a scholarship from the State Scholarship Foundation.
From 1993-94 he was an Academic Visiting Scholar at the University of Michigan’s School of Education.
He has been teaching courses in Mathematics Education at the Department of Primary Education of the University of Thessaly since 1996, while he directs the Postgraduate Program ” Course Design and Curriculum Development in Contemporary Learning Environments” and the “Mathematics Education Laboratory” of the same department.
In his research he approaches the mathematics classroom using tools of semiotics and cultural and linguistic anthropology.
He has a particular interest in geometry, in the integration of manipulative materials in mathematics teaching, and in issues related to teacher education and training.
