Dimitrios Schizas holds a degree in Biology and a PhD in Theoretical Ecology, History and Philosophy of Biology from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

He worked for several years as adjunct professor and scientific associate at the University of Athens, at the Technological Institutes of Thessaly, Western and Central Macedonia, and at the International University where he taught courses in Ecology and Biology at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

He has received a post-doctoral research scholarship with an emphasis on History, Philosophy and Didactics of Biology and has published research papers in scientific Greek and international journals, international books and conference proceedings.

He has participated in research programs and lifelong education seminars about Biology Education organized by several educational institutions.

Since 2021, he has been working at the Department of Primary Education at the University of Thessaly, where he was elected Assistant Professor in the field of Biology, Ecology and their Teaching.
