Marita Paparousi is a Professor of Modern Greek Literature and Literature Teaching.
She completed her undergraduate studies in Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, while continuing her postgraduate studies at the University of Paris IV (Paris-Sorbonne), where she received her Master diploma and her PhD in Modern Greek Literature.
She is the author of the books In Search of Meaning:
- Narratological Approaches in Contemporary Greek Prose
- The Body and the Negotiation of Difference
- Literature in Teaching Practice: Reader Response and Critical Approaches
- Introduction to Literature Theory: Concepts, examples and critical application.
Her main research interests focus on contemporary prose writing, literary theory, gender and identities, and the teaching of literature.
