Christos Govaris graduated from the Zosimaia Pedagogical Academy of Ioannina (1980-1982) and then studied Educational Sciences and Political Sciences (MagisterArtium) at the University of Stuttgart (1984-1990).
He completed his doctoral studies in Educational Sciences at the University of Tübingen (1996). He taught as a Lecturer and as an Assistant Professor of Intercultural Education at the University of the Aegean (2001-2007).
Today he is a Professor specializing in “Intercultural Education: Theory and Practice” at the University of Thessaly.
His research interests as well as his published scientific work focus on issues and themes of Intercultural Education theory, reproduction of school inequalities in the multicultural school, intercultural-anti-racist teaching methods, citizenship education and teacher training in cultural diversity.
