{"id":1855,"date":"2025-11-05T11:57:55","date_gmt":"2025-11-05T09:57:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pre.uth.gr\/?page_id=1855"},"modified":"2025-11-17T11:24:36","modified_gmt":"2025-11-17T09:24:36","slug":"administration","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/pre.uth.gr\/en\/the-department\/administration\/","title":{"rendered":"Administration"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Departmental Assembly<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The dominant body of the Department is the Departmental Assembly.<\/p>\n<p>The Department Assembly consists of all the Faculty members and one elected representative of<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the Laboratory Teaching Staff (LTS)<\/li>\n<li>the Special Educational Staff (SES)<\/li>\n<li>the\u00a0<span data-huuid=\"8785978755191592937\">Specialized Technical Laboratory Staff<\/span>\u00a0(STLS)<\/li>\n<li>the undergraduate students<\/li>\n<li>the graduate students<\/li>\n<li>the PhD Candidates<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The main responsibilities of the Departmental Assembly are: the supervision of its overall administration, the implementation of the rules and the internal regulations, the determination of the general educational and research policy, as well as the planning and strategy of the course and development of the Department, in the context of the general decisions of the University\u2019s Senate.<\/p>\n<p>The Departmental Assembly, which operates in accordance with the applicable provisions and the Internal Regulations of the University of Thessaly, meets regularly once every month but also when convening needs arise. To process various academic, research and operational issues, the General Assembly may appoint working committees.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Departmental Chairpersonship<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Department Chair convenes the Assembly, prepares the agenda and presides over its activities. The chairperson\u2019s main responsibilities are to ensure the implementation of the Assembly\u2019s decisions and to head the services of the Department. In addition, he or she prepares and approves the Department\u2019s actions, which he or she submits for approval to the Department\u2019s Assembly and forwards it to the Deanery, the Senate and the Board of Administration of the University of Thessaly.<\/p>\n<p>The Department chair is elected for a three-year term by the Faculty Members.<\/p>\n<p>The current Department chairwoman is Professor Maria Paparousi until 31.08.2025.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Departmental committees<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The\u00a0<strong>Curriculum Committee<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0<strong>Student Affairs\u2019 Committee<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0<strong>ERASMUS Committee<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0<strong>Finance, Material Resources and Digital Services Committee<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0<strong>Internship Committee<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0<strong>Outreach and Publicity Committee<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0<strong>Research Committee<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0<strong>Internal Evaluation Group of the Department<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Departmental Assembly The dominant body of the Department is the Departmental Assembly.
