{"id":1815,"date":"2025-11-03T12:13:49","date_gmt":"2025-11-03T10:13:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pre.uth.gr\/?page_id=1815"},"modified":"2026-04-01T11:32:35","modified_gmt":"2026-04-01T08:32:35","slug":"erasmus","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/pre.uth.gr\/en\/studies\/erasmus\/","title":{"rendered":"Erasmus+"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Erasmus+ Program: Welcome to the Department of Primary Education<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Thank you for your interest in studying at the <strong>Department of Primary Education<\/strong> at the <strong>University of Thessaly (UTH)<\/strong> under the Erasmus+ Program.<\/p>\n<p>Our Department is an active participant in the program, welcoming incoming Erasmus+ students annually and maintaining <strong>19 bilateral agreements<\/strong> with universities across Europe in the field of Education.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Participation Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To participate in the Erasmus+ Program at the University of Thessaly, you must first contact the Departmental Erasmus Coordinator at your home institution to express your interest and initiate the nomination process. Please note that acceptance is conditional upon your home<br \/>\nuniversity having a valid Erasmus+ inter-institutional agreement in place with our Depart ment.<\/p>\n<p>Incoming students are required to consult the official <a href=\"http:\/\/erasmus.uth.gr\/en\/studies-en\/application\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UTH acceptance procedure<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Course Offerings and Language of Instruction<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Department of Primary Education offers a <strong>limited selection of courses conducted entirely in English<\/strong> each academic year specifically for incoming Erasmus+ students. All students are strongly encouraged to participate actively in classroom discussions.<\/p>\n<p>In all other courses offered by the Department, instruction is conducted <strong>in Modern Greek<\/strong>. For students who may not be competent in Greek, it is often possible enroll in courses and engage with their content through guided self-study throughout the semester, after which they are evaluated through <strong>written assignments or special projects in English<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Additional Study Opportunities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Erasmus+ students have the valuable opportunity to enroll in and attend courses taught in English that are offered by <strong>neighboring Departments<\/strong> (Preschool Education and Special Education) or other Departments within the School of Humanities and Social Sciences (to which the Department of Primary Education belongs).<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the University of Thessaly provides <strong>Greek language courses<\/strong> to all international students every academic year.
