The Department of Primary Education, with over thirty years of history behind it, is an internationally recognized department whose main vision is its continuous evolution and development into an open organization for the production of knowledge, research, and learning within a democratic society.

The Curriculum of the Department of Primary Education at the University of Thessaly aims to influence and shape your scientific-professional identity as specialists in teaching and as reflective educators with an awareness of your social role and a critical stance towards your work and the conditions that affect it.

Furthermore, it places as a primary goal of your education the instillation of democratic principles and values, actively supporting the role of education in shaping a society governed by the principles of justice, democracy, and freedom.

It aims for you to acquire an education that will assist in the harmonious development of your abilities and the fulfillment of your personality, so that you can successfully face both the challenges of the social world and those of the professional field, fully aware of your responsibility as future educators to ensure substantial equality in educational opportunities and to oppose any racist and sexist ideologies, as well as any other form of social discrimination.
