The Research Ethics Committee (EHDE) is established and operates in accordance with the provisions of Law 4521/2018, articles 21-27. Mission of R.E.C. is to provide, at an ethical level, a guarantee of reliability of the research projects carried out at the University of Thessaly. The R.E.C. checks whether a research project is conducted with respect for the value of human beings, the autonomy of the individuals involved, their privacy and personal data, as well as care for the natural and cultural environment. The committee also monitors compliance with generally accepted principles of research integrity and criteria of good scientific practice. Examining ethics is an essential guarantee of reliability, contributes to the achievement of excellence and is a prerequisite for strengthening trust and acceptance of the research conducted at the University

Responsible for the implementation of the Research Code of Ethics at the Department level is the Internal Research Ethics Committee.
